It’s very likely that young and old Bucharest residents have heard of the famous Hotel Cismigiu. If not from a real life encounter with it, then surely from a Vama Veche song. It barely stands, abandoned for more than a decade, watching over the Regina Elisabeta Blvd, tens of peeled-off posters and graffiti covering its outside worn out walls.
Once a renowned point on the capital’s map, Hotel Cismigiu, along with the famous Gambrinus beer garden, will soon come to life again. This is great news for the authorities and for the nostalgics, all the while a dusty city pride culture is struggling to settle amongst Bucharest’s inhabitants.

Hercesa real estate firm is going to take on Romanian territory. 6 million Euros and some 30 years of experience will (re)include Hotelul Cismigiu in the tourism and business circuit, thus adding a fresh touch to the Parisian looking boulevards of Bucharest.
