This winter is a great time to see a very special actor on the stages of Bucharest. He belongs to a generation which studied theatre in the second half of the 1990’s, he’s bursting with talent and with passion to act, and he is that unique kind who can act in a comedy just as well as in a drama, being equally great in the theatre of the absurd and in Chekhov. He’s pretty well known from little comedy acts on TV, but also from Nae Caranfil’s films, „E pericoloso sporgersi” and „Filantropica”; he’s excellent in everything. He’s an actor at Teatrul de Comedie, where he can now be seen in „Oh, what a bloody circus!” by Eugen Ionescu, and in the excellent „American Buffallo” from Teatrul Act. In the latter play, one can clearly see that ever since Dem Radulescu, our stages haven’t known a greater comedy potential than this great actor.
His name is Marius Florea Vizante and what he does onstage carries such a personal touch that it can be called vizanterism. Keep an eye on him and seek his performance.
