She’s a young Leo who’s living her dream. She believes that what’s “in” is what “looks good on you”. She loves Vivienne Westwood and John Galliano. She gets her buttons and her beads directly from India, her lace from her grandmother’s dowry trunk and all her fabrics from Italy.
After graduating from the Art University of Bucharest, she opened her workshop in a gingerbread house which she decorated herself... right in the pulsing heart of Bucharest. Here she creates, drinks tea and dresses her clientele. Her name is Oana Manolescu. You can choose from her casual and evening collections: glamorous taffeta dresses, riding pants with leather inside knee patches, folk skirts with colorful tassels and embroideries, hand-made belts and purses. She’ll fit you on the spot and you can walk out just perfect, all altered and with no rough edges.

And since the trend radar is beeping at the ethnic theme now, Oana’s picks are her signature corset/waist bands featured in December fashion magz that cost between 165 and 265 RONs. The fabric used is either solid or with a plaid pattern, brightly colored and tight enough to accent your waistline. The corset tightens on top of dresses or shirts, and it closes up with a chic mixture of leather straps or discreet zippers.
