With 10 seasons under his belt, John Varvatos shows a pure American style, polished at
Ralph Lauren's and
Calvin Klein's studios. He now owns two flagship stores in London and New York.
In his Fall 2005 collection, you will not find narrow pants, but the cuffed opposite, embellished with pleats but with a low waist. The shirts are white, slightly unbuttoned, with a chic silk neckerchief, and with rugged suede shoes. The colors are grey, metallic blue and burgundy, and David Bowie’s music sent out exactly Varvatos’s message: “perverted ambiguity”.
John only showed men’s fashion these past 5 years, but this year he entered the women’s world. His high class traditional lines were joined with his modern asymmetric sense, and his Women’s collection completely captured our attention. Here’s what we saw:
