Trend radar: the tie

From the myriad of ways one can define "cool", let's choose something we recently came across:
"cool= to not care so much".
And to visualize it, here's another one of our picks from the spring infused streets of Bucharest: a guy sporting comfy clothes, a tan to show he's just come back from either skiing or surfing, a fun cell phone, and an accessory to match the look.

Yes, that's right, our guy is actually wearing a tie around his neck. Loosely knotted, with no apparent pattern matching or ensemble coordination, the tie is what gives a humurous hue to an otherwise plain attire. We've actually spotted something similar at a Green Hours play, so we feel we might be on to something.

When asked how he came up with the idea, the guy in the picture told us that "surfers also like ties, but what can they do if they never wear suits? They wear them any which way they can." When asked where he bought his, he smiled and said that he "took it off a girl".
