Horse riding lessons

The city is great for shopping, honking your horn and being in control at the wheel, or for displaying your newest clothing investments. But everyone needs a break from time to time, even if it means being left with a pain between the legs. What? What did I say?

What I meant was to give a tip on a short escape from the city which is sure to disconnect you from urban stress: ladies and gentlemen… horse riding!

Just outside of Bucharest, 10 minutes driving East towards the seaside, there’s a place called Voluntari which hosts a stable and a decent size forest. That’s all you need to get into horse riding and actually nurture the hobby, should you wish to adopt it.

How could you not, I ask? Admit how sexy proper horse riding attire can be! And horses… they’re such lovely creatures with beautiful eyes who ask for a mere bag of carrots in return for carrying you in style at whatever speed you choose to.
Oh, but don’t kid yourself thinking you can master the moves at the drop of a hat. That’s when the instructor comes in and showers you with all the knowledge you need to actually enjoy this sport and look like a superstar while doing it.

Which leads us to… the instructor. Yes, there is one and you’ll be quite surprised to know about the myriad of talents he can display. He’s a real pro, for starters. Secondly, he’s really funny. As in… so funny you’ll laugh just as hard as you laughed while watching Dorel from the “Unirea” commercials. And to top it all off… he IS Dorel from the “Unirea” commercials! His real name is Aurel, he can teach you the ins and outs of horse riding, and he really moves with talent. Cross our hearts and swear on red!
