Slanic Prahova, weekend getaway

"Where should we go this weekend... not too far, not too tiring, not too full of people, not too expensive, outdoorish, with beautiful weather..."
Does it sound familiar? Do you cringe at the thought of taking a wrong decision? Do you wish that your car GPS would just take you to the perfect place?
Where: only 100 km from Bucharest, the town is Slanic Prahova. Lost between hilltops, subdued and full of nice people, with beautiful scenery, countless tourist attractions and a place where salt is at home, this place is an oasis of rest and relaxation.
You can visit Salina (208m under) where you feel like you’re breathing for the first time due to the salty air, Baia Baciului where summers are open to salty bathing, Crasna and Zanfira monasteries, Muntele Verde (The Green Mountain), and The Salt Museum.
Where to stay: For a complete rustic experience, try Vila Bordei, where in between diets with salty air and traditional homemade meals (warm milk in the morning, sarmale and mamaliga on a wooden board), you can walk barefoot in the grass and lose yourself in the beautiful view, feeling like you’re on top of the world. And yes, that’s right, the grass in Slanic Prahova is still green in December.
Weather: The gods seem to have a soft spot for this place: it seems that it’s sunny all the time. Either that or the locals are overexcited about their home. They say that if Bucharest is invaded with fog and cold, Slanic is warm and the sun shines brightly. If it turns out to be false, the complaints bureau is right inside Salina.

At Vila Bordei, the room price is under 100RON/night, and a menu of three meals per day is less than 50RON per person.

Chiar merita locul. Numai pentru simplul fapt ca faci doar 100 km door to door si e indeajuns. Reusita poza din Salina.
