Some of us like sex, some of us gamble, others eat out of pleasure, and a lot of us spend too much. (yes! even the greedy think they overspend, you know.)
We’re not big on the “mall culture”, but hey… from time to time it’s good to give in to guilty pleasures. Or to not so guilty pleasures, if that’s the case. It just makes us feel good and taste life.
And that’s exactly what you may do, should you choose to go and discover what the “ads with the eye” are all about.
Feeria Shopping Center in Baneasa is really one of the best we have and what sets it apart are a few things: the airy feel it has, the choice of stores, the restaurants, and the ample parking lot. And, according to its developers, the best is yet to come. Feeria is one of the components of the shopping and entertainment city that’s expanding in this area, together with the other surrounding stores, an IKEA which is yet to be built, a movieplex, and a living and office building project which will be completed in 2007.
Aside from the stores you’re familiar with, there are some that implement an even closer to perfection original concept. The Police sunglass store has a cool set-up resembling an old warehouse; lots of metal, green light and industrial fixtures.
Tiffosi is a new Portuguese store with sporty clothing that’s close to Abercrombie&Fitch. Springfield(trendy clothing for men), Women’s Secret (lingerie for women), Lancel (a pricey but good quality leather bag store) and Esprit are also good to check out.
For beauty, the Sephora store is the best in Romania, both in service (the staff is super friendly and well prepared to give you a skincare and makeup consultation) and in space; a good 300sqm leaves enough space to play around and not die from overheat or rub elbows with every crazy woman who wants to spray the entire store on her neck. Sabon, our little favorite store is welcoming you right as you walk through the main door, opposite of another great one, L’Occitane.
As for the food, you can choose to eat there (City Grill, La Mama) and have coffee (Gloria Jean’s Coffees has made it here, too), or you can take something luxurious and decadent home (from Delicateria for cheese, caviar and imported delicacies, or from Chateau Blanc for great chocolate).
So don’t worry if this is a guilty pleasure of you. Aside from Feeria’s logo which is a funny eye, nobody’s really watching; they’re all busy shopping, not spying.
