Crowds draw attention, be it flash mobs, long lines, or a stadium full of people. So when you see one gather regularly in a certain spot, and in a sea of yellow, you’ve got to at least wonder what the fuss is all about.

We just revealed one of these mysteries this weekend, after strolling through sunny, neurosis-free Cismigiu alleys. If you get out of the park towards “Adam”, you will soon notice an unofficial taxi stand.
(***Nota bene: That’s also where you’re sure to catch a cab after a Sala Palatului concert, or a late night at Embryo.)

A few meters up the road, you will also notice what looks like a taxi stand, but which is not. What it is, is a taxi driver gathering which always manages to keep an average of 5 cabbies congregated; what keeps them coming, standing and enjoying themselves is the “cafee italiano” (cool spelling, too!) sold at the 1m/1m boutique at the ground level of the apartment building on Brezoianu. It costs a mere 1RON, or 1,2RONs, should you want a little cream capsule in it. It’s strong, jolty, quick, and crowd drawing. A cabbie best kept secret.
You can try the coffee and be your own judge, or you can just keep on walking, but whatever you do, just know that you stand no chance to interrupt the Italian break, which is always blooming, in a sea of yellow.

Cafee Italiano
Address: corner of Ion Brezoianu and Valter Maracineanu St.
