Ever since Netscape lost the famous "Browser War" four years ago, most of us simply settled for what the winner offered: Internet Explorer (IE). One excuse we often use is that it’s all due to the high Windows usage, which Windows come with a free IE copy. So, yes, we’re all frugal.
A few, however, know that out of the Netscape ashes something called Mozilla Foundation emerged, and quietly, in its nest, a new browser was conceived. It’s name: Firefox.
Launched last year under the "Rediscover The Web" slogan, and almost solely promoted through volunteer word-of-mouth, "The fox made out of Fire" seems to burn away more and more Internet Explorer territory. It reached the impressive number of almost 50 million downloads in just a few months, and this is making old Bill vewy, vewy mad, some say.
Firefox is not just another piece of software with a cute name attached to it. Regular users and experts alike, seem to agree that it is a superior browser in many areas compared to Internet Explorer, especially regarding aspects linked to security. Not to mention various extensions such as All-in-one-gestures or the page rank allocation, which take web navigation to ergonomic heights and cool statistics heavens.
If you haven’t already tried Firefox, it’s time you gave it a chance. It’s free and it only takes 5 minutes to install it.
If you like it, please: Spread the Word! . We do. :)
