It's not always easy to come out of hibernation, and that's precisely the obstacle PSST! encountered: we're due for an article, but what would it be?
What do we launch 2007 with? OK, we might not be Bill Gates preparing for his speech meant to impress the Las Vegas electronics fair attendees, but still, we obsess over what we're going to post.
Long story short: TIME's "Person of the Year" issue (Dec 25th, 2006-Jan 1st, 2007) was what triggered the year for us, and in case you haven't seen it, then you missed your chance to see how powerful you really are, and could become. But fear not, we're here to point you in the right direction. Start by checking out
TIME Magazine Cover.
One of the most read magazines in the world decided to dedicate its one of the most awaited issues to proclaiming "you" (you, me, your next door neighbor, any single person) as the most influential, and most potentially influential ever.
What they mean is that a tipping point had to be acknowledged in regards to how the dynamic of the world is changing and how it's heading towards being generated and carried through by just anyone who has access to the internet.
Yes, the internet is the tool that enables information to take world shaping forms, shifting its course from being traditional media generated to being generated by "you". They exemplify it with
Youtube,
Flickr, blogs,
Top Reviewers on Amazon,
Myspace,
OhmyNews,
outside.in,
Second Life, all these examples being meant to underline the difference between how "web 1.o was organized around pages" vs. web 2.0 which is "organized around people". Simply, in the web 2.0 world it is the people who generate content and relevance.
Hold this last thought and pair it up with the fact that PSST! also has an option for you to write your own article and have it posted. So write your own PSST!, start blogging, create a profile on MySpace, youtube something, or do whatever in this realm 'cause... TIME, and not only, is on your side.
Release your intellectual property.

mă termină articolul ăsta. :D am recitit
articolul am recitit ce-a scris Kit si ce-ai
răspuns tu Madeleine şi încă nu mă pot
decide. \"liberty comes at a price\", nu? şi
anume când cei mulţi aleg care anume conţinut
să fie pe web, sau mai bine zis au libertatea
mai mare de a crea conţinutul, scade oarecum
calitatea lui.
E ca şi cum de mâine m-aţi lăsa pe mine sa
postez articole pe psst. wich kinda would
suck. :( (pardon me french)
adică normal că lucrurile de calitate încă
există, dar se pierd in mulţimea de
neinteresante.
thus i spoketh meself me last word on the
subject :P

si TIMES mentioneaza ca odata cu democratia
asta va rabufni si mult gunoi. dar hei!,
avem destule posibilitati de a filtra ce ne
intra in cap si-n suflet. sincer, prefer
varianta asta decat sa fiu servita numai un
anume fel de informatie.

eu cred ca anumite obiectii se pot aduce
articolului. un raspuns adecvat l-a dat
cristian \"kit\" paul de la brandient aici:
http://kitblog.com/2006/12/digital_proletarianism.html
in mare parte ii dau dreptate. argumentul
care m-a convins este ca majoritatea
continutului creat pe site-urile mentionate
de \"Time\" e cam fara valoare ca sa fim
eufemistici. :)
in rest... numai de bine speram ca toata
revolutia asta webistica aduce si ceva bun,
nu? si cu siguranta momentan asa pare.
