This year’s beach season started in full swing with lots of stuff flying around and being taken off the ground by strong winds and powerful waves. Some of us who were there last weekend and managed to swim our way back, now have a clear idea of what it takes to make it out of the storm.

Thus, when we dropped by Ultima Playa and saw that it was practically untouched by the weather’s bad mood, we liked, we stayed, we listened, we ate, and we got tanned. And we lived happily ever after (the weekend) just to tell you about it.

Here’s the scoop: the beach chairs (wooden and complete with a cool mattress) go for 10RON, and if you like to catch the late rays, you then pay only 5RON after 4pm. This alone ranks the place amongst our favorites because of the friendly prices. As for mangiare, the resto teamed up with Don Pizza; as a result, you can get delicious salads, pastas and pizzas (ranging between 10-15 RON) without having to travel to Italy for them. The drinks are also lively enough to tickle your appetite (or your bait, if you’re after a great catch!). The whole atmosphere is chill, spiced up with house music mixed by a live DJ, and chic, all due to the loungy set-up.

If you’re the active type who likes to stir up the sand, play ball and fly kites, you might want to take your overflow of energy and store it up for later, for Ultima Playa is where you arrive after having been there and done that, if you know what we mean…
