In the event that you're in need of some money and the bank is your only friend, you probably realize the stress ahead of you. The offers are pouring in through all channels, they all sound great, you suspect there's always some dangerous fine print, you have no time to knock on all doors to collect all the info, and you haven't planned to get a diploma in analyzing all terms and conditions pertaining to such a transaction.
No, we don't have the magic solution, but something happened. Something that could be as useful and serious, as it is funny (in a good way).
After having taken the first steps (I made sure all my work papers were OK, I filled in the forms that you can download from the bank's website), I made time to go and discuss everything that would determine my solvency level (solvency=ability to pay back and spend my money). After a 30 minute chat with the agent, I left having been promised that everything will take 2 days. I was told to actually expect a text message on my mobile when the credit is approved.
I got back to my office half an hour later, and my mouth was running left and right with details about what has happened at the bank. I was interrupted quickly, though, by the sound of a text message. I reached for my phone joking out loud: “Yeah, I bet they approved my credit”.
Which they did. ?
So, really, my encounter was short and happy, instead of laborious, tedious and frustrating. Just like the way things should be... with a bank. The credit was for 10,500EUR and “her” name is Piraeus Bank.
