The daily routine gets to you; so does your job and your career, people you got to see so that they know you're still in the picture, the traffic, and all sorts of other outside factors that harass your existence. The time you have for yourself is diminishing. A lot of people prefer the dynamics of such a life, partly because they avoid having a dialog with themselves. But I want that dialog, and when I turned to myself I understood almost nothing. I actually got scared: what do I want to do, where am I going, how can I not make a wrong decision?
You may spend a lifetime and still not have these answers, but I figured that if I am in touch with my inner self, I might at least get close to getting these answers.

So should I do yoga? Tae bo? Aerobics? Are the spa's or the massage sessions better? Tough choice. And so I didn't choose. I was chosen.

The turning point for me was crossing paths with someone who welcomed me into the world of Tai Chi.

My Tai Chi instructor is a man who smiles with his eyes, whose soul listens to yours, and who wholeheartedly helps you. You will not walk away from him without feeling lucky to have met such a person.
The Tai Chi technique blends the physical exercise with respiration and meditation. Everything you will do will involve your body and gradually your body will be answering to you. You will feel each positive effect and you will also enter e new bodily communication level.

Here's what I accomplished after a year of intense Tai Chi practice: I achieved inner balance which in turn gives me confidence, I am careful with what I feed my body, and I can actually talk to it. I learned to manage my stress level and I am simply happier regardless of whatever life throws at me. I am far from being a guru, but people like my instructor show you what it's like to trust in the beauty of life and everything it entails. We are born joyful and happy, so it's all a matter of choosing the right paths to keep us that way.
