Gifts, gifts, and more gifts! Who doesn't love giving and receiving presents? One has to admit that a fabulous Christmas present can go down in your memory in the area reserved for “highlights of your life”. Really! I'm sure you remember when you got your Jaguar... Well, all right... maybe not.

But in the event that you are the gift “giver” and the “receiver” is left speechless by your present, you know the amazing feeling of satisfaction you get out of it. On the other hand, if you receive something great, the one whose choice has touched you so, becomes your target of love and appreciation, even if it's just for a few moments.
The more unique and hard to find the gift is, the higher you think of the one who gave it to you, n'est pas?

I, for one, love to find great gifts. Thus, while browsing through Exotique, I got some great ideas: wooden pencils made out of small Thai tree branches, or oriental fragrant sticks and cones (10,000-25,000 Lei). The candle holders were interesting too, as the selection started at cute little wood ones and ended with a huge pillar-type, a true décor piece priced at 300 Euros. The furniture made out of “water hyacinth” made my jaw drop when I heard its story of how it made its way from the Asian lands to the warehouse on Splaiul Unirii #96. But I digress...

What I really mean to say is that the chair made out of Sheesham wood with camel skin for a seat... is simply sensational. The wood is hard and its relation to the Tek (a strong but noticeably flexible, high in oil content wood) infers a “massive” look to the object made out of it. Caring for it is extremely easy, as you only have to wax it once a year. The camel skin is warm colored and has an interesting texture, which can also be cared for by wiping it occasionally with a leather conditioner. The chair costs 4,900,000 Lei (“well, yeah... thank you very much” --- I already hear you mumbling), and it makes for a memorable gift, as well as a center piece of a minimalist living room.

Florina Stoian, the sales associate at Exotique from Plaza Romania is available for additional details, with a charming and pleasing disposition as hard to find as the perfect gift.
